Shifts Require Community!

Imagine waking up one day only to realize that you have to start over again in some areas of your life because there has been a massive shift. A shift that honestly took you by surpirse but not really. It was a shift that you knew you needed to happen but you just weren't ready for it. Then Boom! God does the heavy lifting for you.

I must say, those types of shifts are never easy. Usually there is emotion and mental journeys that have to be taken which lead to a new spritual journey as well. In some cases, the shifts align with the spiritual journey you were already on.

The shifts open your eyes to new ways of life, new boundaries, and new possibilities. Depending on the journey and how you are being guided or what you are looking for, new opportunities arise. New opportunities to connect, new opportunities to walk in your calling, and new opportunities, period.

One thing is for sure: the new path you are walking may require new communities. Yeah, you read it right. NEW communities.

It can be uncomfortable, but it is needed. No matter how much we as a society claim we don't need anyone, from my observation, that is not true. We are not meant to walk this life journey alone. Yes, I have been saying this for years. The Human Connection is still important!

Where am I going with this? To be honest, I am not sure, but I do have a point. My point is that when there is a shift in your life, you need to find or create a community that aligns with the shift. If you are paying attention to the world around us, there is a lot of shifting going on. If you are like me and take it all in for the sake of humanity, you have to save yourself and find things to do and people to connect with, or you will end up overwhelmed, upset, and burned out.

Find the communities that are speaking to the needs that you have. If you are a bookworm and looking for your fellow bookworms/readers, go find them. They are there. If you are a historian and looking for a community to share your love of all things history, go find them. They are there. If you are looking for representation in the areas where you are not being seen, go find them; they are there. From what I have seen, there is a group for just about everything. If there is not, create the space you are looking for.

Here is another idea: take a leap of faith and join a group on a subject you are not an expert in.

You will be surprised at how welcoming it can be! We don't know everything, and that is okay. No matter what society wants to make you believe. Over the last few months, I have been intentional about making sure I am in spaces where I feel heard, seen, and valued. It is important to me that my environments align with my efforts, dreams, passions, and life journey. I encourage you to do the same. You don't ever have to feel alone; some people are willing to walk this journey alongside you, even if they don't know or live close to you. Some people are in your neighborhood waiting to connect!

Today's challenge find a community that aligns with your current shift and see where it takes you. Enjoy!
