Hello Dope Souls!

For those of you who are still here after what seems like a long period of silence in the written form, thank you for sticking beside me! It means the world to me.

I have been quiet in this space, but I have been active and silent at the same time. For those that may not know, I have a podcast called the SheSpeakz podcast. There I talk about life, leadership, and all the things. I also created a new podcast called Dope & Domesticated, which highlights my journey as a military retiree after 22.5 years in the military to being a stay-at-home mom. Creating this new podcast is something I have always wanted to do as it is a different world and I don't feel like it is highlighted enough. There are many converstaions of how to prepare for retirement in the areas of your finances, finding employment and moving but where are the spaces where we get to hear about the new things we are learning in the process, the things we are unlearning in the process and our new adventures in learning what we like and don't like once the military life is over? I don't hear much about it in the form of a podcast, so I created it!

My silence comes from navigating life's unpredictable moments, which include working on myself internally (self-reflection, therapy, etc.), spending time with my family, and being intentional about growing my relationships with friends, colleagues, and creating other communites that are needed in this current climate. This also includes showing up where I am needed, valued, and wanted (this takes patience, time, and keen observation skills).

With everything I am involved in or choosing not to be involved in, I have decided to get back to the basics and write. When I created the SheSpeakz brand, that was the foundation. I created a blog that turned into a podcast! I want to give you fair warning, there is no one topic I will focus on. So hold on to your seats and get ready for a wild ride.

Life is full of opportunities, and I encourage you to embrace them all. You never know what positives may come your way. With that being said, please don't take my word for it. I will only speak from and share my experiences/journey. Test it out for yourself. Remember to consider your resources. You know what is best for you. I wish you well and look forward to our blogging journey.

Let's agree right now, there will be no comparisons, no I wish I had or should have, but the mindset of this is how I will move forward.  Thank you for being a part of my motivation to get back on the keyboard and use my gift of storytelling.
