Sometimes a simple note will do.

In this day and age, it is easy to get caught up in technology. Don’t get me wrong, technology is great but too many times we rely on technology as our only way to communicate. We want to talk to someone, we send a text. We want to let someone know we are thinking about them we send a text, instant message or an email. When was the last time that you took the time to sit down and hand write someone a Birthday Card, a Thank You card or a Thinking of You card to let them know that you appreciated them? I can honestly say that I still love getting cards in the mail. If I don’t get a card from anyone besides my kids and my husband, my mother will send me a card for every occasion. There is something that makes you feel special knowing that someone took a few minutes to pick out a card, write a message and address the envelope. As much as we like to text, email, FaceTime and get on social media there is something to be said about the art of writing. Sending a card or note in the mail is a small gesture that has a BIG impact. The next time you want to “unplug” from the technology world blow the dust off of those old greeting cards, pull the forever stamps out of that drawer, grab a pen and send an unexpected note to that special friend, family member or old acquaintance. You just may put a smile on someone’s face that only their memories will see.
